Midlands Community Foundation Raises
More Than $42,000 at its 2016 Golf Tournament

Papillion, Neb., June 8, 2016 – Midlands Community Foundation raised more than $42,000 at its 2016 golf tournament at Platteview Country Club on Monday, May 16.

At this year’s tournament, donations were awarded to Heartland Family Service’s Safe Haven Shelter for battered and abused women and children, and Special Olympics Nebraska. The proceeds from the tournament also will continue to endow the Children in Crisis Field of Interest Fund at Midlands Community Foundation.

”We are pleased to provide funding to these two worthwhile non-profit organizations. We appreciate their efforts in helping to change the lives of individuals through the programs and services they provide. We also are glad to be able provide for future funding of other organizations that provide services to children in crisis,” said Tonee Gay, Executive Director.

The mission of Midlands Community Foundation is to benefit the diverse needs of the Sarpy and Cass county communities by providing financial support, involvement and service. Over the last 30 years, the Foundation has served as a leader by helping to identify community needs and partnering with corporate and individual donors to make the most of their charitable dollars. The Foundation has a strong commitment toward prevention and education in the areas of health, art, culture, community, education, economic development and human services.
