The purpose of the fund is to support the current and future needs of the Gretna Veteran Memorials Fund, which may include, but are not limited to, promoting social welfare of the community, assisting disabled and needy war veterans, members of all military branches and their dependents, providing entertainment, care and assistance to hospitalized veterans, perpetuating the memory of deceased veterans along with comfort to their survivors, sponsoring or participating in activities of patriotic nature, and supporting social, recreational, charitable and educational programs for veterans and their families.
