Midlands Community Foundation to Present $85,000 Check to Heartland Family Service

Midlands Community Foundation will present a check for $85,000 to Heartland Family Service on Thursday, February 21 at a noon reception at Midlands Community Foundation’s office at 945 North Adams Street, Suite 7 in Papillion. Heartland Family Service was chosen to receive the proceeds from the Foundation’s 26th Annual Reflection Ball held on October 6, 2007.

”We appreciate the generosity of the many organizations and individuals who supported the 2007 Ball, and are pleased to donate the proceeds to Heartland Family Service,” said Tonee Gay, Executive Director. “We also were delighted to honor Al and Dottie Schmid with the Foundation’’s Reflection Award at the Ball in recognition of their extraordinary generosity and continued involvement with Midlands Community Foundation.

Heartland Family Service, a private, nonprofit social work agency provides a variety of services to protect children, help adults and strengthen families. Since 1875, Heartland Family Service has been offering education, counseling and support programs to give people the assistance they need to get back on their feet and look toward a brighter future. Today, the agency serves more than 40,000 people annually.

The mission of Midlands Community Foundation is to benefit the needs of a diverse community by providing financial support, involvement and service. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded gifts totaling millions of dollars to many worthy organizations.
