Midlands Community Foundation has awarded grants totaling $92,580 to 16 non-profit organizations serving Sarpy and Cass counties including:
- Autism Action Partnership – $2,500
- Cornhusker Council, Boy Scouts of America – $3,350
- Food Bank for the Heartland – $15,000
- Fontenelle Forest – $5,000
- Greater Omaha Attendance and Learning Services Center – $7,730
- Lofte Community Theatre – $2,500
- Louisville Volunteer Fire & Rescue – $8,000 (challenge)
- Mid-America Council, Boy Scouts of America – $3,000
- Moving Vets Forward – $4,500
- Omaha Home for Boys – $5,000
- Omaha Performing Arts – $5,000
- OneWorld Community Health Centers, Inc. – $10,000
- Plattsmouth Police Department and Foundation Providing Opportunities for Plattsmouth Schools – $2,500 (challenge)
- Radio Talking Book Services – $10,000
- St. Matthew Catholic School – $3,500 (challenge)
- Strategic Air & Space Museum – $5,000
“Each of these non-profits provide wonderful, worthwhile projects and programs which we believe will enhance the quality of life for Sarpy and Cass county residents and we are pleased to be able to provide the needed financial support to assist them,” said Tonee Gay, Executive Director.
This is the first of two grant distributions for Midlands Community Foundation’s fiscal year. The next grant deadline will be February 1, 2016, with funds distributed in April.
Through its grants program, Midlands Community Foundation places an emphasis on prevention and education. The Foundation has a strong commitment toward programs benefiting health, art, culture, community, economic development, education, and human services.
The mission of the Midlands Community Foundation is to benefit the diverse needs of the Sarpy and Cass county communities by providing financial support, involvement and service.
